Lake Argyle and Zebra rock mine

Well here we are in hot hot hot Darwin, and you guys are freezing! A little bit of downtime in the heat of the day to catch up on our blog. This afternoon we are going to the Darwin Beer Can Regatta at Mindil Beach, hopefully we get a few good shots.

Zebra Rock Mine just near Lake Argyle on NT side was a highlight of our trip. We had a blast on the sunset wetland cruise ....Combine sunset, amazing scenery , wildlife, wine, food, rock & roll music with good company and this makes for a amazing night! (I think there was even singing on the boat/bus). The geology of zebra rock is still being debated between geologists as to  how it is formed. The rock is very rare and this has 95% of the worlds known resource. Many geologists come from all over the world to study the rock.

On Tuesday we are off to Kakadu/Arnhem Land before heading down to Mataranka (hot springs), Alice Springs, Kings Canyon, Uluru etc. and YES WE WILL BE HOME AROUND 20/21st AUGUST!
