Munich

Here we are in Munich the home of the biggest beer party in the world. Tomorrow Octoberfest starts with a parade just outside our hotel and 1 million people are expected to attend the festivities over the next 10 days.

Ike was checking out the fashions here. Scott, if you would like some of these leather pants we can organise this for you?

We had a beer in the Hofbrauhaus beer hall today, the oldest in Munich. You will see the photo of Ike having a drink with some Frauleins, and dancing with the oompa band... This is where Hitler made his first public address , thus the beginnings of the Nazi party.

At 11.00 o'clock we saw the world famous glockenspiel doing it's musical enactment. This is sort of like a giant cuckoo clock.

We took a free 3 hour walking tour of Munich which a young American PHD history student, over here studying European history. This was very informative about the history of the third reich etc. These are not details that local people wish to address publicly, and the memorials are very low key. Unlike many other historic monuments.

Bye for now love Steve and Chriss.

p.s. this is the only place where we haven't had to repeat our surname.

Hello from australia! Look at all these lazy bastards not commenting. Shame on them. We would'a done it sooner too, but only just found out about your blog. Looks like your having a great time :) keep it up. We love the escapades of ike, though you should make sure he doesn't get into too much trouble (he looks like he could be the type).

Kez and Ize send our best wishes, and request that there be more fun, and more posting.

kezize out...
