Barnhill station - south of Broome
So far we have done 14,705 kms .We are now in Derby preparing for the Gibb River Road tomorrow, we have allowed about 2 weeks to complete this outback experience. Hundreds of kms of corrugated dirt road with beautiful gorges , station stays and National Parks through the Kimberlys.
Broome and the Dampier Peninsular have been a blast. Broome is very laid back, we know now why they say Broome time! The roads up to Cape Leveque on the Dampier Peninsular were as expected, rough in places ....... corrugated .....and red red red. We stayed at three different Indigenous communities, each very different.Whilst at Kooljamon we did a tag along 4WD with an Elder of the community. Steve had heaps of fun trying his hand at spearfishing , crabbing the tradional ways and unbogging our car in the soft deep sand! By the way we have extended our trip by two weeks to make 5 months!
Thanks for all the great feedback on our blog so far.
Stay posted for more. xxx
