Fortescue Falls & Fern Pool

Our journey to the centre of the earth at Karijini NP began at Fortescue Falls with a Class 4 walk. Karijini is mind blowing and many people report this as their favourite part of their big loop trip. Class 4 was enough for my poor old body, but Steve did several more. One of which was Class 5, unfortunately he returned before the end of the trek due to rain and slippery rocks. They warn people to get out immediately if it starts to rain. Many of the Class 4 & 5 require wading through water (sometimes waist or chest deep) with narrow gorges etc.

A young guy we met was really excited to show us how his magnetic iPhone case stuck to the rocks, hence all the iron ore mining around here.
